(As-Swaffaath) 37 : 57
وَلَوْلَا نِعْمَةُ رَبِّي لَكُنْتُ مِنَ الْمُحْضَرِينَ
If there not had been the Lord’s favor, I would have been among those who are summoned for punishment.
The Favor of the Lord is Adhikr. The believer uses Adhikr as Guidance, Mercy, and Safeguard against all calamities, disasters, and Hellfire, as well as the Ticket to Paradise. He also uses Adhikr as the Criterion to distinguish the only way to Paradise from the different ways to Hell, and thus he leads a life focused on the Hereafter. It is mentioned in verse 43: 67 that all friendships, except those based on righteousness, will turn into enmity on the Day of Judgment. See explanation 3: 196-197; 25: 27-29; 36: 75.
